Some observations:

• Ireland 1840 is a populous country in Europe, with 8 millon people, 3 million more than today
• India's population keeps growing but was the smallest in 1980 relative to the global population.
• Japan remains relatively stable until 2000, when it starts to shrink fast.
• Australia is almost invisible in 1800 and remains quite small, even in 2100.
• Africa is where the growth is in 21st century, with Nigeria projected to overtake the US by 2060.
• China is the most populous country until around 2020 when India overtakes it. Yet, it relative size shrinks during this entire timespan.
