The original NS screensaver installer is mirrored by Eric Folst as scrnsvr.zip. His extra train pack adds many more Dutch trains. Trainspotters has more NSME/NedTrain downloads and an NSME train exchange.
On modern 64-bit Windows, the 1998 installer and Nsme.Scr
are old 16-bit Windows programs, so they will not run directly.
Install or unpack them in a 32-bit Windows VM such as Windows XP,
then copy the extracted NSME folder to the modern machine. Put extra
.bmp, .wgn, and .trn files in
the matching NSME train folders before copying. To use it as a real
Windows screensaver on current Windows, keep it inside the VM; this
page is the browser-native version for everyday use.
People love high ideals, but they got to be about 33-percent plausible.
