Wise is a European fintech firm. It floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2021, spurring hopes that other technology stars would follow. On June 5th 2025 it announced its intention to move its main listing to New York, citing the familiarity of its largely American shareholder base with the American market. Its chief financial officer said valuation was "not really the driver" of the decision. At 29 times its expected earnings for the coming year, it was already more richly valued than the S&P 500 average.
