Russia's leading independent polling organisation. It conducts regular surveys on public opinion, consumer confidence, attitudes to the war in Ukraine and support for Vladimir Putin. Consumer confidence remains near an all-time high according to Levada data, even as a majority of Russians say they want the war to end and pay little attention to its progress. A 2024 survey found 40% of Russians would approve of a family member or close friend signing a military contract; 88% approved of contract soldiers receiving money and benefits for going to war "instead of us". In a 2026 poll conducted with Novaya Gazeta, three-quarters of respondents chose "tiredness of war" to describe the national mood.
