Singapore's ruling political party, in power since before independence in 1965. At the 2020 election it won 61% of the popular vote. At the May 2025 election under Lawrence Wong it increased its share to 66%, translating into 90% of elected seats in the winner-take-all, multi-member constituency system. It successfully defended every seat the opposition sought to flip. The party benefits from structural advantages, including short campaign periods and a large party machinery that can quickly adapt to redistricting.
