AI pioneer. Mr Hinton argues there is a 10-20% chance that artificial intelligence will end in human extinction. A former colleague, Yoshua Bengio, puts the risk at the high end of that range. He signed an open letter in 2023, alongside hundreds of people working in AI, warning of the technology's perils.
I do note with interest that old women in my books become young women on the covers... this is discrimination against the chronologically gifted.
