Former finance minister of Indonesia and former World Bank managing director. She held the SAL, a $27bn accumulated budget surplus, chiefly as a rainy-day fund and stuck with a 2.5% of GDP deficit target for 2025 despite concerns about overspending.
During protests on August 29th 2025, looters sacked her house, along with those of four other officials. Prabowo Subianto sacked her soon afterwards. Her successor, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, is seen as less fiscally judicious and more pliant.
