Russian playwright, 44 years old at the time of her trial in 2024. Co-author of "Finist, the Bright Falcon", the play she created with director Yevgenia Berkovich.
On May 4th 2023 she was arrested alongside Berkovich and charged with "propaganda and the justification of terrorism" for the content of the play. She and Berkovich were the first artists jailed in Russia since Soviet times for the content of their work. The case was brought to the attention of Vladimir Putin, who gave the green light to proceed. On July 8th 2024 both women were sentenced to six years. They are currently held in a penal colony, where their work assignment is sewing clothes.
