Walid Jumblatt is the Druze political leader in Lebanon. His father was assassinated by the Assads.
After the fall of the Assad regime, Jumblatt embraced Ahmed al-Sharaa, Syria's new leader. He has warned Syria's Druze against aligning with Israel, arguing that doing so would "spell disaster" and that the Druze "cannot afford to alienate Muslims."
